FEATURED: Aiden Harmitt-Williams – Photographer

Photography is generally understood to be about capturing specific moments in time. As an artist, it’s tough enough to grasp the ability to present photographic reflections of reality, let alone go above and beyond that concept in such a conscientious yet imperceptible manner.

Aiden Harmitt-Williams is a photographer and writer from Bristol. Many of his works are portraits, but he also shoots buildings and landscapes, has worked on a number of fashion shows and shoots, and had his work featured in magazines and on album covers.

A diligent artist, Harmitt-Williams’ style is quiet and understated. His portraits are subtly arranged in an unconventional way, accentuating muted tones with an aim to bring out the ordinary and most honest qualities in his subjects. His photographs have a stillness to them, which ironically gives off a sense of motion – it makes them seem astoundingly lifelike in that they are very present and pure.

I’m interested to see how he will improve, since he has already proved himself to be a versatile and consistent talent, but most of all because of his attention to detail and refreshingly original approach.
